DV and Cab BeSpoke

When i booked the appointment back in october, obviously I had no idea the Eagles would be in the playoffs let alone alive... more on that later....After getting back from Brazil-I was there for 13 days more on Nike Sportswear over there soon...

It was time for the appointment. I knew going in that i was definitely going to be overwhelmed by the choices of 82 materials to pick from, not including color...So i need at least one of my personal design consultants to come through, unfortunatley Nikki -Yellow Fever had an obligation to the birds to watch them live and i cannot knock that at all,
I had to completely dodge and duck civilization who may have been talking about the eagles game due to my appointment being from 4-6 and the game was at 4-7 someone was bound to talk, but i got lucky and made it home at around 1:00 am still not knowing the score to watch the game fresh from the start, ok enough birds talk for now but we will get it done in the meadowlands...

Back to sneakers: So we walked into the backroom to design and see this beautiful leather couch

and who do i see on the couch just finishing up his 3rd maybe 5th BeSpoke design but the world famous Mayor
We and Mayor Chopped it up a bit, one of my new favorite people in the game, I wanted to see if he could provide any insight or suggestions as to what to go for while designing as i did, Chef, Phil and the rest of the Made Men, and everyone agreed that just make what comes to you and remains a classic.

Our designer at NSW Izy was a very talented dude, he introduced us to the program and was very influencial and focusing my thoughts and ideas into making a final product. He had us first go through the materials hung on the wall
After getting a taste of what we were seeing we then sat down and took a look at swatches of everything
What Izy had us do is use the swatches and try to come up with colorways, i went to a favorite grail of mine and thought of the Amsterdam Air Max 1's

We stuck the swatches on the idea board and coordinated midsoles and outsoles to the board.
Next we made a second pair to give us a choice between the 2 pairs, I immediately grabbed 2 colors, Neon Yellow and Purple, Izy clearly read my mind and pulled it from the far back with a reference to the unbelievably classic Air Huarache Light Burst AD 21 editions, and so we made a 2nd prototype
So now we had 2 prototype ideas

Now it was time for Izy to draft them up on the computer, so we looked at other prototypes and samples that were already done and re reviewed our setups

Cab Stylin'

Then we snuck a peak at what was being done on the superimposed rough draft of the sneaker, and we started to see them come to life section by section

Now the super sneak peak, yes i want to make everyone drool with anticipation

So now you will have to wait and see, will it be the Drewsterdam Air Force 1 or the ADV 21 Air Force 1????
the winner is inside the folder... and will be revealed in the flesh when it arrives from the factory in a few weeks...

For a bit of philosophical fun Cab posed a question to me when we were designing... Since i based by ideas off of my favorite un owned air max grail colorways, he posed the question:
Does making this shoe quench the need and the want for the original sneaker?

So i pose this to you readers, would re-creating your favorite colorway of a sneaker into another model adjusting the style to your liking erase the need of the original sneaker?

My answer to him was "Well we will know when these are finished and in my hands..."

Thanks to everyone at BeSpoke/Mercer/Nike/Mayor/Phil/Chef/Cab/The Pizza Dude Who Came Through And Delivered Pizza While We Were Designing...IT WAS BANGIN BTW(woow that was a long one)
